Value	Description	Deprecated
X_1A	PDF/X-1a — CMYK and spot colour only, no transparency, no layers. The most restrictive of the three and the safest common denominator.
X_3	PDF/X-3 — permits colour-managed device-independent colour alongside CMYK, but still requires flattened content.
X_4	PDF/X-4 — permits live transparency and optional-content layers, so no flattening is required before delivery.
