Coarse colour-space classification

Values

Value	Description	Deprecated
DEVICE_CMYK	Uncalibrated device CMYK — the native space for most press work.
DEVICE_GRAY	Single-channel device grey, uncalibrated.
DEVICE_N	Several named colourants addressed together, such as a duotone or a spot-plus-process combination.
DEVICE_RGB	Uncalibrated device RGB. In a CMYK print workflow this is what triggers a late, uncontrolled conversion.
ICC_BASED	Colour carrying an embedded ICC profile, so its appearance is defined independently of the output device.
INDEXED	A palette space, where samples index into a table of colours held in some other base space.
LAB	CIE Lab* — device-independent by construction, with no profile needed.
SEPARATION	A single named colourant, i.e. one spot ink.
